The Scoop: What if the not-wanting is the point?

Reader,

I've been a little quiet lately.

Part of that is because I've been prepping for a much needed vacation (Yay! Italy and the Netherlands with Jeremy, my hubby and teammate for life) and part of it has been me, deep in my own business, reworking a few things behind the scenes, so that what I offer truly matches the work I most want to be doing.

I've also been guesting on a bunch of podcasts and in a lot of client conversations, and I keep hearing so many women say some variation of the same thing.

I know what I should do.

I know what I could do.

And I don't actually want to do any of it, anymore.

What strikes me about that is just how much guilt they all feel. I mean, I've definitely been there myself.

We assume the not-wanting means we're lazy or failing or even worse, that something's wrong with us.

I don't think it means any of those things.

Usually, when the coulda shouldas stop feeling good, it's a sign that we've outgrown what we're doing and we're being called into the next best thing.

What if, instead of white-knuckling through it, we used it as guidance toward what's next?

That's the deep work I've been doing with clients lately. We're getting clear on what they actually want and where they truly want to go with their business, and then we build a plan to get there.

If this is hitting home, hit reply and tell me. I'd love to know you're out there.

Now, for the big news... drum roll please....

I've been named a V-List 200 honoree!

I'm being considered for four awards I'm genuinely proud to be in the running for:

Visionary of the Year
Changemaker of the Year
Social Enterprise of the Year
People's Choice

My instinct, like so many of ours, was to share it casually on social media, but I talk all the time about how important it is to shout out our wins.

So, I'm practicing what I preach and asking for your vote for the People's Choice Award.

Voting is open through July 20, and it takes about ten seconds. I'd be honored to have your vote.

Vote here.

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for cheering me and each other on.

xo, Jess
