The Scoop: The idea that won't let you go

Reader,

At a certain point in her career, almost every accomplished woman I have ever worked with hits a wall.

It doesn't matter what industry she is in or how successful she has become.

At some point, the business or career she's built starts to feel like it belongs to a different chapter of her life, and beneath the surface, something different is trying to emerge.

It might be an idea, a deep conviction that something in her industry needs to fundamentally change, or the sense that the most consequential work of her career is still ahead of her.

Most of these women have been carrying this idea for years... and some of them have been trying to articulate it for just as long.

Almost without exception, they have been trying to get there alone.

This week I wrote about three of them.

One who had the conviction but not the language.

Another who knew she needed to build something new but couldn't afford to burn down what she had spent decades building.

And another whose ideas were so tangled and consequential she couldn't find the throughline on her own.

Each of them had what I call a Watershed Idea™, and each of them couldn't get to it until they stopped trying to do it alone.

If this resonates with you, I built a short quiz that will help you figure out exactly where you are in this process. It takes three minutes, and it might be the most clarifying thing you do this week.

P.S. Two spots remain in the Built to Last Egypt Retreat this October, and I want to share a bit more about what we're doing and why it's different.

This is not a retreat where we talk about global impact in theory. It's a deliberate, structured opportunity to build real relationships with Egyptian women entrepreneurs, to sit across from women who are building businesses in a different cultural and economic context, and to think seriously about what it means to do work that extends beyond your own backyard.

This retreat is built on the belief that the most meaningful work happens through genuine relationship and mutual exchange, not tourism, charity, or networking at a distance.

If building something that is truly global and genuinely rooted in real partnership with women around the world matters to you, this was designed with that in mind.

Click here to learn more or talk through whether this retreat is right for you.

Is this your moment?

Are you at a point where continuing as you have isn't an option, but starting over doesn't make sense either?

Are you facing decisions about the next chapter of your work that feel too consequential to navigate alone?

That's exactly the moment I work in.

If you want a trusted strategic partner to help you get clear on what comes next and how to build toward it without burning down what you've already created, book a Watershed Idea™ Discovery Call. Let's talk.
