Reader,
I got back from Cairo last week, and I'm still processing all of it in the best possible way.
As you know, I went to meet with the Egyptian women entrepreneurs who will be joining us for the Cairo Gathering portion of the Egypt Retreat in October, and I left with my heart completely full.
These women are extraordinary. They're building serious businesses, navigating real complexity, and they're so genuinely excited about what we are creating together that it reminded me all over again why I said yes to this in the first place.
I also found myself sitting with a deep sense of gratitude for the seven women who have already committed to the Built to Last Egypt retreat.
They're going all in on their own rest, their legacy, and the kind of deep connection that only comes when you share an experience like this together. The fact that we've already begun this work together in the lead up to the retreat feels like confirmation that what I'm building is exactly what it's supposed to be.
I seriously cannot wait until we're all there together... there are two spots left, and I'd love you to be there with me, Reader.
Coming home from a trip like this always does something interesting to my thinking. I land back in my regular life, look at my work with fresh eyes, and things that were fuzzy before suddenly come into focus. This trip was no different, and it's one of the reasons I love travel so much.
I came home thinking about a pattern I see constantly in the women I work with, one I've experienced myself, and one that almost never gets talked about honestly.
I ended up writing and talking about it this week on the blog/podcast, and I think it might resonate with where a lot of you are right now.
It's called the "fine" trap, and it's what happens when your business is technically working but something still feels profoundly off.
