If you’ve ever looked at your business and thought, “I should love this… I built it... but it feels so heavy?” - this is for you.
On the blog (and even deeper on the podcast), I’m sharing a story that’s deeply personal.
It’s about Mitch, my beloved houseplant (yes, he's got a name), and how he taught me one of the most important lessons about business, growth, and what happens when you ignore the signs that something isn’t working.
I used to think that when I felt constantly drained, frustrated that nothing I was doing was working, or caught in this cycle of second-guessing everything in my business, it meant I was burned out.
This often showed up most in this lackluster feeling about my offers and messaging. Where I was once excited, it all felt blah... or even exhausting to think about.
Two times in my decade and a half as a business owner, I have felt like my business was more like a cage instead of a creative outlet and space where I was creating real impact.
The first was in my cookie and cupcake business and then again in 2021 when I walked away from a business partnership.
In both cases, I assumed I just needed a break.
But the truth?
I wasn’t burned out.
I was rootbound.
Just like Mitch, I had outgrown the container I was in.
I needed more space. A new structure. A different kind of nourishment for my soul.
And maybe you do, too.
