For the longest time, I hated looking at my business finances. This wasn't just a simple little feeling. I genuinely hated it. There was something about the numbers, and everything I'd attached to them, that made the whole thing feel enormous.

When the balance was lower than I thought it should be, I felt shame. When things were booming, I felt proud in a way that was honestly just as unsteady. I'm still a work in progress. I still get in my head about revenue, especially when things feel shaky. But now I embrace my inner Erin, get into the numbers, do my best to strip out the emotion, and make better decisions.
